N/NAKA A complete reimagining of N/Naka transforms the celebrated dining room into a deeply immersive architectural experience rooted in restraint, texture, and atmosphere. The redesign introduces a sculptural stone-inspired entry sequence, curved lime-plaster walls, layered ambient lighting, and handcrafted walnut furnishings that soften the space while creating a stronger sense of intimacy and escape. Replacing the restaurant’s previously minimalist interior, the renovation embraces a more expressive and cinematic mood through organic forms, muted tonal contrasts, and tactile materials that reflect the restaurant’s modern California kaiseki philosophy. Every detail — from the illuminated wave-like walls to the custom furniture and textured washi finishes — was designed to create a seamless dialogue between architecture, emotion, and dining.
